Get ready for the most exciting time of your life! Skydiving
offers you the opportunity to live life to its fullest. The
Georgia Skydiving Center experience is like no other! At GSC
you will be accompanied on your skydive by the most enthusiastic
skydive professionals in Georgia skydiving! Use the information
provided below to choose which
first jump you wish to make at GSC.
*To
make any skydive you must be at least 18 years of age and
weigh 285 lbs or less.
Tandem Skydiving is the most popular first jump as it
requires a minimal amount of training (less than an hour),
while maintaining a high degree of safety. You are attached
to the front of your instructor's harness for the entire skydive
and parachute ride. Your jump will include 70 seconds of freefall,
followed by a canopy ride that lasts anywhere from 7 to 9
minutes. You will be encouraged to steer the parachute. Should
you request, you may also do flips and turns (steer yourself)
in freefall! We highly recommend this method of enjoying your
first skydive!
AFF
is the most advanced method of training individuals to skydive.
Before your first jump you will attend a 4 to 6 hour training
class that will teach you the fundamentals of skydiving. Your
jump is made in the company of two USPA rated AFF Jump masters
who provide direct assistance during the exit and freefall.
You will have the opportunity to deploy your pilot chute,
which will release your main canopy. Once your parachute is
deployed, you will (with radio assistance) control a solo
parachute descent back to the drop zone.
To make your first Jump, wear casual clothes suitable for
outdoor activity at the temperatures forecast for the day.
For the warm months, shorts or jeans, lightweight shirt, and
tennis shoes are fine. In the winter we jump in temperatures
as low as the mid 30's on the ground. The airplanes are heated,
a sweatshirt or long sleeve warm shirt, jeans, lightweight
gloves, and tennis shoes are usually sufficient. On all your
student training jumps GSC will provide a jumpsuit, goggles,
headgear, and altimeter.
We encourage
you to bring your friends, cameras, and picnic lunches. Children
are welcome if they are supervised while you are making your
jumps. Unlike many other skydiving facilities your pets are
welcome!!!
